Anaerobic-Box TAB

The THIEMT anaerobic-box TAB serves to the propagation of oxygen-sensitive, microbiological cultures.
The incubated breeding grounds/culture media will be brought in the jar and incubated by an anaerobic atmosphere, there.
The anaerobic milieu can be generated by choice of the so-called anaerobic developer or by CO2-purging.
A characteristic feature of the TAB-box is the large volume of 6,5 liter; this enables the incubation up to 48 (Ø55 mm) Petri dishes.

Method of operation

Cultures insertion

The cover of the TAB can be removed, by opening the lock ring. The cultures will be simply put in the bin below or inserted sidewards, through the retaining stand.

The anaerobic milieu can be created after closing the jar.

CO2-milieu by CO2-purging

The THIEMT anaerobic-box disposes of 2 valves and an excess-/depression manometer. For creation of the anaerobic sphere, by use of CO2-purging, it is advisable to evacuate the chamber once or twice, where after any evacuation, it is `to rinse´ with CO2. The CO2-purging represents an affordable, however time-consuming method.

CO2-milieu by anaerobic developer

Anaerobic developer (gas developer) are reagents, which are converting the existing oxygen into CO2, by use of a water addition and a chemical reaction. Different developer are available in the market. The generation of the anaerobic milieu takes place quickly, but it is not cheap.
